Hi all, so it’s been a while since I last wrote a blog – hope you haven’t missed me too much. I thought I would keep you all up to date on what products I’m currently in love with.

A brand called Darphin is one of my favourite brands at the moment and I have chosen 2 products which I swear by each and every day. My first Darphin love is…

Darphin Hydraskin Light 50ml this is a refreshing, lightweight gel hydrator that will moisturise your skin to keep it smooth, supple and hydrated! This will leave your skin revitalized and is a perfect base before putting make-up on, which will leave you with a glowing complexion! Make sure you use it twice a day for the best results. What more could you ask for in a moisturizer? It’s at a really good price as well, so won’t break the bank.

My second love would have to be the Darphin Mild Aroma Peeling 50ml. It’s perfect for all skin types, yet if you have dry skin use it once every 10 days and if you have oily skin use it 3 times a week! This Peeling mask removes impurities and clears away dead cells to reveal fresh and glowing skin. To apply this all you need to do is rub a thin layer over your face and neck (avoiding your eyes), leave on for a few minutes then rinse well with lukewarm water.

I have been reading about the Clarisonic Cleansing System this morning, and from what I have read I am going to be purchasing one as soon as I get paid it seems to be the perfect product for any one who loves to give their skin some TLC! The cleansing system removes up to 6x more makeup than manual cleansing and will leave your skin feeling and looking smoother. It also helps reduce oily areas, dry skin patches, blemishes and reduces the appearance of visible pores and fine lines/wrinkles within just 8 weeks.  It’s gentle enough to use twice a day, for 60 seconds. It gently yet effectively loosens dirt and oil to clear pores with the use of more than 300 movements per second to clean, soften and smooth your skin! It’s so cold outside at the moment our hands are really suffering from the exposure to the elements. So we have tried a few different hand creams that have recently landed on our desks and in the office today we love… Pai’s Fragonia and Sea Buckthorn Instant Hand Therapy Cream! Golden Globe awards ceremony took over Hollywood with style on Sunday night with it being the first big event of the season it was obvious that the celebrities were out to impress. With some outstanding dresses by top designers it was bridal gowns which proved to be the biggest hit on the night. My favourite gown of the night was worn by Kate Beckinsale which was also the most bridal like dress; she made the outfit perfect with an up-do hair style and didn’t over power it with jewellery. Angelina Jolie also looked amazing in her white, one-shouldered silk Atelier Versace gown teamed with white Versace shoes. With a red clutch bag and bright red lips who could hate her outfit, it was simply stunning! And adding her favourite accessory – her husband Brad Pitt they were without a doubt my favourite couple. November has well and truly been renamed MOvember in the office as all the boys raise money for an excellent charity. I’m all for a great cause and can see the guys really getting into it but it does make every man around the office look slightly creepy for 30 days, with most of them normally preferring the designer stubble look a la Gary Barlow.

So now I have reached part two (of many) in my quest for find the perfect presents for Christmas this year, yesterday I was searching for presents for the men in my life and today is the girls’ turn.  No not for me but for my most loved nearest and dearest. A bit later than in previous years but the Christmas party invite has just landed on my desk for the week before Christmas. This has obviously sent my head into a bit of a spin, I currently have no dress, no shoes, no handbag, problem!

And to make things a bit worse, I’ve just noticed that I need to get back to the gym as I’ve been in hibernation mode for the past few weeks.

Cue huge resolution to go to the gym at least 3 times a week for the next 6 weeks to get into shape to look good at the party.

Winter is fast manifesting itself after one of the mildest starts to November we can ever remember. We do love our rosy glow that goes with cold, crisp mornings but we do fear it’s wreaking havoc on our skin.

This is the kind of product that should be a staple in every woman’s make up bag. Containing lightly tingling lip plumping ingredients, the gloss is also high shine and can be worn alone or over lipstick. My lips are naturally rather creased so anything that gives a smoothing effect like this, particularly when I’m wearing lipstick that seems to cling to every crevice, is ideal. The formula contains Atelocollagen that helps to increase the natural lip collagen and is packed with nourishing ingredients such as jojoba and avocado oil. There’s none of that familiar (and uncomfortable) stinging that used to come with ‘lip plumpers’; instead a vanilla and cinnamon scent. Because it has many moisturising components, it’s an easy one to incorporate into your beauty routine to get your lips feeling comfortable and looking full and smooth. My tip would be to use it over a lip ink type product that stain the lips as you won’t get the same dispersal as you might using it over a creamy lipstick.

This is definitely the product for me this week! I love the idea of spritzing a room to turn it into a place of relaxation – it’s almost a de-stress ritual on its own. It could be the bathroom, the bedroom or sitting room to give a mental signal that it is time to relax, but most of all, use it over your pillow or bedding before pulling back the sheets and slumping into utter bliss! Elemis really thought through their home-spa range with such beautiful attention to detail that makes it very impressive. So, the mist contains Patchouli, Eucalyptus and Ho Wood oils that are naturally comforting and sleep inducing. It’s an essential for times when your mind won’t stop whirring and also for long haul flights where sleep is hard to find.

I’m a lot in love with this gorgeous, on trend trio of shadows that make a smoky eye at the drop of a hat. The general rule is to apply the lightest shade as the base, the next shade blended into the outer eye corners or over the lid crease and finally the darkest shade as a liner to carefully define with a thin eye brush. It doesn’t have to be used that way of course – the turquoise shade is beautiful as a summer liner on its own and especially with just a slick of mascara for a low key but stylish every-day look. My tip is to wet your brush before you dip into the shadow and you’ll get a more vibrant, intense pigment to really wow your look.

Bath time is often the only part of the day for busy people to get a little bit of time to themselves. I’m all for making it as nice as time as you possibly can with some candles, an entertaining play on the radio, a cheeky glass of wine or your favourite magazine and who cares if it gets soggy at the corners! Everyone is so busy that bath time shouldn’t just be about the chore of cleaning; it should be a treasured pleasure. So, what to chuck in the water to make it extra pampering? SkinCeuticals are known for their scientific approach to skin care, and one of their hero products that is a favourite amongst beauty editors is the fabulous Retexturing Activator. The oil-free serum (making it idea for oily skin as well) turns around skin that is dull-looking or lacks vitality by ensuring constant exfoliation and a boost of hydration that gives significantly improved radiance. It’s one of the few products that I’ve used that made such a difference, friends were commenting on it! Compliments aside, it gives skin a softer looking appearance and an ultra-smooth texture, making it ideal for all skin types.

If you’re new to Bliss as a range, I’ve been wracking my brains to recommend an entry point to the brand which will give a good representation of what it all stands for as well as being something to tackle an immediate issue. One of the products that I love – and it is very relevant for summer skin – is Bliss Steep Clean Mattifying Moisturiser that gives oil control and beautiful moisturising properties at the same time. Neat trick. Except with Bliss there is no trickery behind the fun names; it’s all solid, good problem-solution skin care with some excellent pampering items, too. As summer tends to send oil glands into overdrive, it’s a great one if your skin gets more oily in summer like most people, or if your skin is only oily in summer. A recommendation that I’m completely confident in for Bliss pampering is Blood Orange and White Pepper Body Scrub that smells divinely fruity and sloughs away any roughness so you look fabulously smooth and perfected in your bikini. Use it a couple of times a week and follow on with a body moisturiser to watch your skin shed away that undercover look and start to look velvety and glowing.
